Location: Long Mountain Trail Parking Area, Vernon St., Albany Mountain
Event Description
Experience one of the strongest annual meteor showers under some of Maine’s best dark skies. Join MMGM for a special Geminid Meteor Shower Viewing event at the Long Mountain Trail parking area in Albany, Maine. The Geminids regularly produce up to 150 meteors per hour, offering bright, colorful streaks across the night sky—perfect for both seasoned stargazers and curious beginners.
Our 14” telescope will be available on-site for viewing additional celestial objects beyond the meteors, including planets, star clusters, and deep-sky features visible during this time of year.
This event is weather-dependent, and dates/times are currently tentative. Please check back for updates before heading out.
