MMGM Brings the Meteorites to Dino Days in Portland

Calling all DINO fans and amateur paleontologists! MMGM Staff will be bringing the fossils and meteorites to Dino Days Weekend at the Children’s Museum + Theatre of Maine in Portland! We’ll be there Friday AND Saturday!

MMGM’s Meteorite Project Director Patrick Leverone will showcase the museum’s world-class meteorite collection, giving guests the opportunity to see and touch rocks from the Moon, Mars, and asteroids. Learn about how these space rocks reach Earth and what happens when they arrive during this interactive presentation.

About Patrick Leverone:

Patrick began volunteering at MMGM in 2020 and joined the team as Meteorite Project Director in 2023. Along with overseeing the AllSky Camera Network, which tracks meteors over Maine, and working with one of the world’s finest meteorite collections at MMGM, Patrick guides visitors through the Museum’s Space Rocks Gallery, develops exhibits, and more, all driven by a deep enthusiasm for the science of meteorites.
