MMGM Story and Activities Sessions at the Bethel Library: Still Life

The Maine Mineral & Gem Museum is excited to partner with the Bethel Library for a summer series of STEAM activities!
We’ll begin with a still life-focused session where participants will hear a story about the life of Vincent van Gogh, followed by a presentation exploring how rocks and minerals can be used in art. Examples will include inspiring works by Maine rock artist Alan MacGee.
For the take-home activity, participants will create their own still life drawing, a “very still life” featuring beautiful rocks that can be found throughout Maine.
