Spaced Out Street Astronomy – CANCELLED – May 15th

The Gem Theater parking lot | May 15 | 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Join street astronomers Tom and Lynn Hoffelder for International Astronomy Day 1 on Saturday, May 15th [Rain Date 16] at the Gem Theater. Make sure to RSVP HERE if interested!
The highlight of the event will be catching a glimpse at the elusive planet, Mercury.
Mercury always appears near the Sun, just after sunset or just before sunrise, and few people have seen it. Even fewer have seen it in a telescope.
While the scope is out, you’ll also be able to see the Moon, Mars, a colorful double star, an open star cluster, and possibly even a galaxy far beyond our Milky Way.
For this event to be safe and successful, we ask that all participants wear a face covering and stay six feet apart from everyone who’s not in your party. We ask that you also refrain from touching the telescopes. Tom and Lynn will bring it all into focus for you.
