Meteorites are extraterrestrial rocks that impact Earth.
Some are older than Earth itself, some originate from the Moon and Mars, others contain amino acids—the building blocks of life—and then there are those that contain extraterrestrial gems. Stunning examples of all of these varieties and more are on display at the MMGM.
Meteorites are fundamental to our understanding the origin of our Solar System as well as other solar systems in our galaxy. The MMGM houses and exhibits one of the world’s most preeminent collections of rocks from space, the Stifler Collection of Meteorites, which features the largest piece of the Moon on Earth.
