Join Us for MMGM’s 1st Annual Mineralogical Heritage Awards
at this year’s New England Mineral Conference.
Maine Mineral & Gem Museum’s MMGM Mineralogical Heritage Awards celebrate the sciences and arts integral to its mission: to communicate the significance of minerals in our lives, our planet and beyond.
Honorees demonstrate advanced application and significant influence on the science and processes inherent in mining, collecting, crafting, educating and communicating the relevance of minerals.
MMGM Mineralogical Heritage Awards commence in May 2016 during the MMGM Mineralogical Heritage Awards Banquet on May 6 at the Grand Summit Hotel in Newry, Maine and held in conjunction with the New England Mineral Conference.
The awards will be bestowed each year hereafter. Inductees are selected by democratic voting by the Awards Committee with a total of three named each year; recipients may be named posthumously.
This will be a buffet style dinner from 5:00 to 6:45 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017. A $30.00 fee covers this event and the dinner. You may also register for the Banquet only by calling 207-824-3036 ext 111 or 112.
