MMGM offers internship opportunities year-round for college and graduate students interested in careers in geology, chemistry, museum studies, and more.
Summer Internship Application Process
Sept. 1, 2025 – Feb. 8, 2026: Applications Accepted
Feb. 9 – Feb 13, 2026: Candidate Review and Selection
Feb. 16, 2026: Selected Applicants Notified
March 2, 2026: Selected Applicants Must Confirm Acceptance

The Bedell Internship
Created by Richard L. Bedell to support MMGM, the Bedell Internship offers undergraduate students the opportunity to pursue their unique area of interest in geologic research. This is a 6-week paid internship, occurring over the summer months at MMGM. Interns will work with their internship supervisor to outline a project that supports the intern’s educational goals and aligns with available opportunities at the William “Skip” Simmons Research Laboratory at MMGM. Housing is provided. Applications are due February 8, 2026.
Museum Internships
MMGM offers internships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Museum Studies, Geology, or related fields. This includes Museum Education, Collections Management, and Curation. Internships may range from 6 to 12 weeks, as determined by the intern and internship supervisor. A weekly stipend and housing are available for selected interns. Applications are due February 8, 2026.
