Event Overview
Space limited; registration required. Email Myles Felch at mfelch@mainemineralmuseum.org to reserve your spot.
Explore the geologic story of Western Maine on a guided walk through the Bucks and Lapham Ledge trail network. Led by MMGM Curator and Staff Geologist Myles Felch, this field experience focuses on understanding the landscape itself—how it formed, what it reveals, and how to read the rocks beneath your feet.
This is not a collecting trip, but rather an immersive, interpretive walk through one of the region’s scenic geological areas. Along the trail, participants will stop at key outcrops to discuss rock formations, geologic features, and the broader story of Maine’s natural history.
This program is in partnership with the Mahoosuc Land Trust and Bucks Ledge Community Forest.
