The Maine Mineral & Gem Museum invites families to Science Fair Fridays, a free, six-week summer series of hands-on, drop-in science activities for kids. Each Friday explores a different earth-science theme — from modeling the rock cycle to growing real crystals, led by museum education intern Eli Budet. Drop in anytime between 11 am and 1 pm; no registration or fee required. (No session August 7.)
This week: Egg Shell Geodes and Mica Art. This activity will focus on making Geodes out of egg shells, glue, and sugar and salt crystals of different colors. There will be a presentation part of the activity, as well as a Geode that each child can take home.
