Based on “The Big Find”, Erik’s sculpture emulates the trials of mining pockets in pegmatite belts. Just as not all pegmatites contain tourmaline, not all of the sterling silver tunnels lead to the watermelon tourmaline slice at the center. This is a complete crystal slice: notice that the green “rinde” goes all around the natural hexagon shape. The tourmaline slice weighss 49.3 carats. Sterling silver, 18KT rose gold, tektite and onyx.
